Fédération Interuniversitaire de l’Enseignement à Distance
35 universities have already joined the FIED in order to propose a wide range of distance courses, representing more than 300 courses and as many independent learning units (called “modules”) in most existing disciplines : Science and Technology ; Sports ; Letters, Arts & Humanities ; Languages ; Human and Social sciences ; Economics ; Administration & Management ; Law ; etc.
Each FIED member has developed a structure specifically dedicated to distance teaching, and in charge of the daily management of distance courses in its university, from the admission of students to the delivery of their diplomas.
According to the internal running of each university, those structures may be called Centres de Télé-Enseignement Universitaires (CTEU), Services d'Enseignement à Distance (SEAD), Unités de Formation et de Recherche (UFR), Services de Formation Continue or Départements de Formation.
