About distance learning in europe
Open and distance learning (ODL), offers the possibility of learning at distance outside the classroom and with a high degree of autonomy. Thanks to information and communication technology, it's possible to improve the quality of learning by facilitating access to resources and services as well as remote exchanges and collaboration.
Several universities and institutions in Europe provide flexible ways of learning and of acquiring European diplomas, either entirely at distance or on a blended mode. Some are dual universities, with both on site and distance teachings, others are exclusively distance universities. Diversity of institutions and networks, of languages and of courses and diplomas, characterizes European distance education. The variety of cultural environments, of educational policies, of employment needs, vocational and in-job training, and of broadband access to the Internet for the individual student plays a role in the development of distance education. It is also its asset, as a student from outside Europe, or as a partners: you will find your own opportunity out of this diversity, and among EduContact partnership !
